Poet.
I began writing poems at Hiram Scott (thanks to Mr. Elgin...where is he?) and have published 20 books of poetry, several of them translated into Russian, Spanish, Lithuanian, Croatian, Italian, Albanian, Arabic. For over 20 years I've made my living as a poet in education, conducting creative writing workshops in schools, prisons, mental hospitals, homeless shelters and community centers, creating multi-voice poetry performances and poetry murals with my students. I have been a featured poet at international poetry festivals in Argentina, Colombia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Croatia, Ireland and Romania. I earned my MFA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University in 2008, and I am currently a Lecturer in the Eng. Dept. at Albright College in Reading. PA.
